Join YPT Boston on a technical tour of one of the MBTA's primary maintenance facilities! MBTA employees will take us on a behind-the-scenes tour of the train repair facility in Everett. Anything that breaks on the T is sent here to be fixed, no matter how big or small. You'll see how the maintenance team overhauls and repairs train components, fabrication and manufacturing of parts for trains, and the repairing of train structure and car-body components.

The tour is limited to 15 attendees and is for YPT Members only. If you aren't a member, join today for just $20 (annual fee) by registering for this event! (Memberships are non-refundable.) All proceeds will support future YPT events. If you're not sure of your membership status, please go to "My YPT" and login to your account to find that information.

If tickets are sold out, please email and you will be notified if a space opens up. If for any reason you cannot make the tour after registering, please contact us or cancel your registration ASAP so that others can attend. Thank you!

Along the Greenway Technical Tour

Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5:30PM - 7:00PM | South Station - 700 Atlantic Ave, Boston

Gil Propp, creator of, will lead this technical tour along Boston's Greenway. He will discuss what factors prompted downtown Boston and Boston’s waterfront to change so extensively in purpose and in form. As you pass through the streets—some original, others later additions and realignments—you will see firsthand how Boston originally developed and the extent to which Boston’s centers and squares have changed over time. The tour will also focus upon how changing trends in transit shaped and reshaped the city of Boston while witnessing the marks that various phases of transit-oriented urban development, not a new phenomenon by any means, have left upon our city.

The tour begins by the MBTA’s South Station and ends by the MBTA’s North Station.

This is a member's only tour. If you aren't a member, join today for just $20 (annual fee) by registering for this event!
